At the end of September we will be transitioning from our current Sunday evening format to a small group format (LifeGroups).  To begin with there will be a handful of groups.  These groups will meet in a variety of places and at a variety of times.  Some will meet at the church, while others will meet in homes.  Some will meet on Sunday evening, others will meet at times throughout the week.  The board’s hope in moving to small groups is that these will foster an environment where people can grow closer to God and one another.

On Friday and Saturday, September 17th and 18th, a group of us will be headed to Clearfield for the District Men’s Retreat.  We’ll be leaving the church on Friday evening and will head to Clearfield for a couple of days of fellowship with other men from across the district.  Cost for the two days is $10 (to cover the cost of meals and supplies).  If you are interested, please contact Pastor Josh by email (josh@mountunionwesleyanchurch.org), by phone (814.542.4025), or sign up on the sheet in the back of the church.

On Saturday, September 18th, a church in the DuBois area will be hosting a Beth Moore simulcast from 10:30am-5pm.  The cost of the event is $15 (in advance), which includes lunch.  On the day of the event, tickets can be purchased at the door for $20.  If you are interested in going, please contact Crystal Rhone by email (crystal771611@hotmail.com), by phone (814.542.4025), or sign up on the sheet in the back of the church.

Recently, many of you, having seen the shirts that Brad Moore designed for Clubhouse this year, asked if there was any way that you could order t-shirts, sweatshirts, or other MUWC gear. In order to make your requests a reality, we have opened a storefront over at Cafepress.com.  The upfront cost of the merchandise assumes that you are ordering only one item and that Cafepress will be doing a single printing.  However, if there is enough interest, we can make a bulk order which would reduce the price of the t-shirts considerably.  

Another unique feature of Cafepress is that as a church we will receive 10% commission on any merchandise sold.  So, with every purchase you make, a portion of the proceeds will be returned to the MUWC to support our ongoing ministries.

We would like to invite you to our monthly young adult potluck for the month of August.  This month’s potluck will take place on Friday, August 20th, at 5:30pm.  The potluck will be held at the church property.  Our theme for this month’s potluck is “Campfire Foods.”  The volleyball net will be set up and the fire will be roaring.  We hope you can come and join us!
